Amelia Island Plantation covers over 1,200 acres of land between the Atlantic Ocean and the intracoastal waterway at the south end of Amelia Island. The Amelia Island Plantation Community Association (AIPCA) was formed to manage the natural environment and infrastructure shared by more than 2,000 private homeowners, the OMNI Resort and the Amelia Island Equity Club.

This website describes the 270+ acres of natural environmental assets that were set aside by the founders fifty years ago to ensure a community development “in harmony with nature.”

  • ·       There are more than 150 acres of maritime forest that have been retained as a canopy over 15 miles of roads, and as buffers within almost every subdivision.

  • ·       There are 35 acres of recreational parks scattered throughout the community that offer a variety of family activities.

  • ·       These are connected by 32 acres of picturesque lakes, ponds and streams including a mile of frontage to the marsh areas bordering the Amelia River.

  • ·       Lastly, more than two miles of oceanfront beaches are accessible across 53 acres of natural dune land maintained by AIPCA.

  • ·       Furthermore, all 270 acres of natural environment are home to a diverse collection of hundred’s of wildlife species.

This website is meant to provide a common point of information about AIPCA’s natural assets, their maintenance and enhancement, in order to ensure AIP’s  continued environmental health for the next fifty years. The drop-down menus above allow easy  access.
