Under the leadership of Dr. Taylor Clem the Environmental Assets Committee has sponsored a five-year survey of the health of our bird populations. Volunteers assemble five times a year at six different sites on the Plantation to record their observations. We have completed three years so far and here are the partial results.

Three years of volunteer sitings recorded for UNF have identified 177 different bird species at six different locations within the plantation.

In December 2023 the Environmental Committee sponsored a study to estimate the types and numbers of fish species in our lakes. The used a variety of techniques to catch fish including electrification and netting. They reported the numbers and health of the various specimens they collected as reported in their 100 page report.
