2025 Environmental Assets Committee:  Major Accomplishments

·      1st comprehensive committee member assessment of our 270 acres of assets

o   How well maintained compared to an owner’s reasonable expectations

o   Work needed to recover to meet the community’s expectations

o   Opportunities to further enhance the value of our natural assets

·      1st objective review of 300+ pages of recent professional reports and data on the health and potential liabilities associated with the current condition of the assets

·      1st detailed budget to cover all eight major asset areas

·      1st Full year with a Professional Environmental Manager – Jack Barnes

o   Developed relationship with existing professional contractor base

o   Expanded understanding of broader contractor base in the area

o   Established constructive coordination with associated groups

o   Supervised vine cleanup along 2.6 miles of roadway. (12 more miles next 4 yrs)

o   Supervised risk-reduction tree and branch removal as advised by Lippi report along 10% of our road shoulders

o   Begun detailed diagnosis of tree health of 50+ acres of natural forest parcels and 10 miles of roadways not assessed by the Lippi Master Arborists

o   Improved water quality measurements and treatments of lakes and ponds

o   Improved 1st year survival rate of new tree plantings to 90%

o   Acquired state permits for needed dune area projects

o   Executing efficient plans for comprehensive asset maintenance of all areas

o   Upgrade landscaping around the Oaks

o   Planning for upgrades to two major A1A circles in 2026

o   Planning for more efficient landscape and other contracts for 2026 and beyond

o   Adding environmental data to AIPCA GIS

o   Certification as Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector

o   Certification for Wetland delineation (on going)
